This course offers opportunities for you to develop performance skills, work on production projects, collaborate with others, and to develop your critical and creative skills.
If you study Drama at Sunderland, you will find we are committed to keeping you up-to-date with professional practice and developing your employability. We have close ties with professionals and graduates who have gone on to work in the creative industries, and who often return to share their experiences.
You will have ample opportunity to work on projects in the community and educational settings on a variety of modules and to develop projects in a variety of professional or work-related contexts. Examples of this include running projects both on and off campus as directors, actors, writers, performers or facilitators of work in professional or community settings. All students studying on-campus undergraduate Drama courses can take up a CV-enhancing work placement, a University-led industry initiative, or a professional and business development boot camp. *By the term placement, we mean we are offering you a taste of the industry which might last anything from two days to four weeks on a part-time basis.
The course also makes regular use of professionals and academic tutors with industry links and provides an opportunity to present work at local schools and community centres, in professional venues, and/or on tour. These activities provide you with valuable insight into the performance industry and aid the development of skills in both individual and collaborative working practices.
