Suitable candidates will be curious about the digital media, new media forms and how they affect us personally, socially, and culturally and the production of creative, interactive media.
Interactive Media is the course for you 1) if you are intrigued by the extraordinary power of the arts and media in contemporary societies as sources of information and entertainment and want to know more. 2) If you are interested in how today's media and arts practices are complex combinations of industrial processes for making money and cultural resources for making meaning. 3) If you are willing to read widely about the media and arts and to relate your reading to the debates and arguments you'll encounter on your chosen course. 4) If you recognize that academic ‘theory' is useful for situating the immediacy of familiar cultural phenomena in deeper frameworks of understanding; and you are not afraid of new ideas. 5) If you believe that your working life, effectiveness as a citizen and preparedness for further study will be enhanced by having a better understanding of today's media. 6) If you are interested in working in one of the many occupational areas where knowledge of the media is advantageous.
